Don't Expect To Have Great Skin Without A Healthy Diet: What Foods You Should Be Eating
beautiful, healthy, glowing skin? I am always recommending that clients keep their skin clear and detoxed by the foods they eat, and also in what they drink - a green juice a day definitely keeps the skin clean and glowing. I love an all greens juice with romaine, celery, cucumber, spinach, parsley, kale and apple with a dash of lemon and ginger. A green juice instantly hydrates the skin while encouraging lymphatic drainage, so you are de-puffed and radiant! Foods That Promote Great Skin Eating healthy is obviously good for many things, but if you want glowing skin, having a healthy diet is a must. The reason I love green juices so much is that the best skin diet is one that involves eating veggies of different colors for every meal. A green juice is that but in liquid form and it tastes great. There is really no substitute to eating veggies with every meal and it works on everyone! Why? Tons of antioxidants in every bite as well as a great source of vitamins and minerals. One of my best tips is to start by eating a bit of avocado every day as part of your salad, or even throwing a half of an avocado into your morning smoothie. Avocado supplies the skin with healthy fats and phytonutrients to hydrate from the inside out and bring back your glow. Your skin has a natural barrier to retain moisture and essential to that is omega-3 fatty acid. Flax seeds on your salad or even walnuts will be an instant boost to your omega-3, thus increasing your skins ability to hold onto moisture. Celery and cucumber are also great additions to your salad for youthful looking, supple skin. They both contain silica, an ingredient that boosts moisture and elasticity. Another great food for skin is Selenium. This is a great trace mineral that is awesome for the skin because it helps eliminate toxins. It's found in fish and eggs. If I have a client who doesn't eat salad or drink green juices, I tell them to go to whole foods and buy liquid chlorophyll, it tastes like mint, it oxygenates the skin, keeps skin clean, works from the inside out see a huge difference in your skin in a matter of days. However, the best advice I can give you is to consult a nutritionist or doctor and they can help you sort out your diet. This way you won't have to waste time and money, figuring it all out. Your skin is actually a reflection of what you are eating and is also one of the fastest way to tell if something doesn't agree with you. This is because if your body cannot digest it properly it will expel it via your skin. As always, I hope this helps and brings you closer to healthy, glowing skin. Lastly, I look forward to seeing you at the salon where you will be dazzled by how great your skin looks. Call NOW for your appointments at 212.949.2350.
