The Best Home Facials for New Years Eve

Banana Oatmeal Mask

1 ripe banana

1 cup cooked oatmeal

2 cups organic whole milk

Mash the banana and mix in oatmeal and milk.  Work the mask into the surface of the skin with the finger tips.  Lactic acid acts as an exfoliant to loosen the bonds of dead skin tissue to brighten skin  and twice a week. Oatmeal is a very effective natural anti-inflammatory.  Potassium in the bananas helps to build the lymphatic system that drains toxins from the skin. The rich nutrients of these ingredients go directly into the pores for revitalizing effects. This mask is perfect for regular to oily skin types.

Sugar Scrub

1 cup of organic brown sugar

3 Tbsp whole organic milk

1 tbsp warm honey

2 Tbsp organic olive oil

Apply a thin layer of this hydrating scrub with finger tips and massage into the skin for 5 minutes. Work the T zones: the areas around the forehead, nose and chin. Leave on for about 5 minutes.  Rinse with tepid water and pat dry and apply a nourishing moisturizer.  The sugar exfoliates, while honey repairs the skin and olive oil hydrates. This facial is excellent Good for sensitive and dry skin.

Strawberry, Yogurt and Almond Oil Mask

1/4 cup of organic strawberries

1 Tbsp of almond oil

2 Tbsp of organic plain yogurt

Rinse the strawberries, blend them to a puree, add the yogurt and almond oil.  Apply the mixture directly to the face and let set for 5 minutes to saturate the pores.  Rinse with tepid water and pat dry with a paper towel.

Strawberries offer protective Vitamin C to stave off environmental degradation.   This tasty fruit also hydrates and nourishes making it a perfect ingredient for dry skin.  The acidophulus content in yogurt is antibacterial to prevent acne breakouts.  Almond oil is a moisturizing dream for all skin types when applied to damp skin (if you have nut allergies beware obviously).
