Celebrity esthetician Joanna Vargas of Joanna Vargas Salon in New York City says she’s noticed the strangest trend: People tend to believe if a product is organic, it won’t be strong enough to make a difference in the skin. “When I opened my salon, so many clients were afraid that if they started to use organic products that their faces would start melting off!” She reminds clients that skin needs vitamins and nutrients to stay looking healthy and keep its elasticity. “Our skin is our protection against the harshness of our polluted environment. Why wouldn’t you want to fortify the body’s defense against contamination?” Joanna points out.
