This step is the simplest trick to consistently clear skin but if not followed, it will give you unpredictable results. This is because consistent use of the facial cleanser prepares your skin for any other step in your skincare routine.

You’re Rushing Through Your Wash
Wash your face every single night, and in the morning too if you tend to break out! For the perfect clean, spend a few minutes working the cleanser into the skin before rinsing. Make sure to cover your entire face, including the eye area. Small circles is the best way to make sure you loosen any makeup and dirt! Then, splash lukewarm water on your face to rinse it off.
You’re Not Exfoliating
Use a gentle exfoliator… at least once a week to help remove dead skin cells and naturally even out your skin. It seriously scrubs to get dirt that’s hidden deep down in your pores-you’ll notice smoother skin with less blemishes after just a few weeks. You can also use a wash cloth for the cleanse if you want a gentle exfoliation, but be sure to wash the cloth after every use! Don’t overdo it, though-exfoliating more than twice a week can irritate your skin.
You’re Rinsing With Too-Hot Water
It’s best to wash your face at the sink (rather than in the shower) so you can use lukewarm to cold water. Anything hotter can totally dry out your skin.
You’re Using The Wrong Cleanser For Your Skin
Strong formulas can make skin feel tight and squeaky clean, which might sound like a good thing, but is actually a signal of over-drying or damage! Look for cleansers with calming ingredients, like soy proteins and green tea, that will soothe sensitive skin.

You’re Overusing Face Wipes
An alternative to cleansers and scrubs are towelettes, which can be used at the gym for a quick cleanse at night. They remove makeup but are best for a quick fix. Always use follow-up with a cleanser and water when you get home to really clean your skin.
You’re Not Moisturizing After You Wash
