Five Showering Mistakes You Didn’t Know Were Bad for Your Health
When you hop into the shower whether it be in the morning, post-gym session or before bed, you want it to be a blissful and beneficial experience. Here are five shower mistakes to avoid that may be negatively impacting your health.

1.The products you are lathering on your skin may contain mega-harmful chemicals which are absorbing into your body. Learn to read the labels and be health conscious about the ingredients you are cleansing with. Here are 3 heavy hitters to avoid that are commonly found in soaps, cleansers and body washes:

-Parabens: They potentially increase your risk of breast cancer. These toxic chemicals can absorb through your skin and have been identified in biopsy samples from breast tumors. They can be found in makeup, body wash, facial cleansers and shampoos.

2. Scrubbing with any old soap from head to toe is a major NO. 3. Showering in too-hot water is never a good idea. It wipes out your body’s natural oils, which your skin needs. The water temperature of your showers should be about the temperature of your skin. Keep your showers short, sweet, and not-too-hot to avoid drying out your skin.

4. An old shower pouf is bad stuff. You should be replacing any exfoliating tools and shower puffs every four weeks. They are breeding grounds for major bacteria and mold. Wash cloths on the other hand are actually totally-underrated because you can throw them in the washing machine after one use.
