As I mentioned in the video the most overlooked step in any skincare routine is exfoliation. This step is also the step most people tend to abuse.
Over or under exfoliating can have their own downside. What you need to do is find a good balance. A good rule of thumb is to exfoliate twice a week. This normally works well for all skin types. The result is a natural healthy, glow to your skin.
If you know you have sensitive skin you should do it once per week or find a gentler exfoliating product.
The History of Exfoliation
is one of the oldest known beauty secrets in the world. It goes back in some form or another to ancient Egypt. The reason it works so well its because the slight abrasion of the skin trigger's the skin's healing mechanism.
A Simple 3 Ingredient DYI Mask
In the video I show you how to do a very simple mask that uses yogurt, cornmeal and grapefruit juice. The mask is anti-inflammatory, soothing and exfoliating all in one! Your face will show a true transformation after you tighten the pores with the grapefruit juice and calm it with the yogurt!
Exfoliation has come a long way since ancient Egypt and today is used in any number of ways. Some of them are invasive as in laser or overly done as in products using retinols. As I said before, finding a balance is key as too much of a good thing can damage your skin.
However, finding the balance will give you healthy, young and bright looking skin.
And as always, I look forward to seeing you at the salon where you will be dazzled by how great your skin looks.
