How To Temporarily Reduce the Appearance of Your Wrinkles
LED light therapy is a non-invasive way to temporarily reduce the signs of fine lines and wrinkles without having to subject yourself to invasive procedures. We all have been there including myself. When I used to be a teenager I used to swim and spend my entire summer in the sun. Mostly without sunblock or not reapplying often enough. The years of it did take a toll on my skin. However, luckily I was a still young when I stopped sun worshiping and that is actually what saved me later on. I will say this though. No matter how old you are and how your skin looks presently, you can still change it for the better. I encourage you to do so. Source: XOJane.com I remember having a conversation with Jane a while back about the terrible skincare habits that she had when she was in her teens and 20s. It was pretty much a checklist of everything skin experts tell you not to do. Like skipping sunscreen, sleeping with makeup on every night and never, ever using moisturizer. Jane was basically a dermatologist’s worst nightmare. But luckily, that’s all in the past. Now that Jane is older and wiser, she takes skincare much more seriously, and has even ventured into the world of fancy facials. That’s right, the woman who used to wipe her face with rubbing alcohol can now speak expertly about skin-boosting treatments and peels. Jane has been going to see Joanna Vargas, a celebrity facialist who’s well known in the industry. I’ve only interviewed Joanna -- I’ve never experienced her magical hands firsthand -- so I’ve been getting the scoop from Jane on her visits to the her skincare spa. Joanna has not only managed to talk Jane into getting regular facials, but she also convinced her to use an LED bed. “I only intended to go in one time for a facial -- Joanna was comping me and I don’t like to take advantage. But after the first one, she wanted me to see what it was like to go in on a regular basis. Now I’ve seen her five times for facials, and every time I had an appointment, I did the LED bed. It’s very calming, I get a nice mood boost from it, too. Plus, my skin looks plumper. You take off all your clothes and lie on the bed with goggles on for 20 minutes. You come out and you feel like you’ve been in Malibu,” Jane says. MTI1MDk1NTY5OTE5MTExMTM4 I asked Joanna about this LED light thingamabob (which you can do on its own or combined with a facial or peel) and she told me that it’s her favorite anti-aging therapy. “The treatments will lift, tone and improve your overall complexion for smoother, youthful-looking skin, without experiencing thermal damage, discomfort, down time, scarring or discoloration. And it helps minimize the appearance of pores like nothing else I have ever seen,” Joanna says. It’s hard to really get the full effect of Jane’s glowier skin from the picture above, but she says she’s definitely noticed a difference: “I don’t break out as often. The redness around my nose and chin seems way reduced. Even the dark circles under my eyes look better.” Obviously, you won’t get the same results from one facial per year, versus going monthly or bi-weekly. But since most of us can’t swing that, Joanna has three easy tips on how to get better skin at home. Anybody can do this stuff: MTI2NTMzMjA1ODAwMDMxNTA2 1. Drink your vegetables: “A green juice a day keeps the skin clean and glowing. It’s a great replacement for your afternoon coffee, and it will literally transform your skin in a matter of days. Green juice helps oxygenate the skin and stimulates lymphatic drainage so it's de-puffing, too.” 2. Don’t underestimate the power of a face scrub: “Exfoliation is my secret weapon. It's the most often skipped step in people's home routine, but it really makes a huge difference in the way your skin looks and feels. You could be investing in the most expensive skin care products at home, but if you don't exfoliate, those ingredients won't ever penetrate and won’t make any difference at all.” 3. Take off your makeup at night, even if you’re drunk: “Wash your face before bed! Your body repairs itself at night, and that won't happen unless you remove all the dirt and grime from the day.” You may have heard some of this info before, but are you doing it? ARE YOU?
